Collins says that he will use the stones thrown at him to build a strong foundation and stepping stone for himself. He has overcome all odds to be where he is. It started by his family being unable to pay fees for secondary school even after scoring very high marks in the primary examination. Kenya Kesho Trust came to his rescue. He worked very hard in secondary school aiming to become a doctor. He was the top in school only to be offered a course in Hospitality and Tourism. He almost committed suicide but Kenya Kesho secured a Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery course for him at Maseno university. No sooner did he start the course than his father died. It was a big blow for him but had to move on pegging his hopes in Kenya Kesho. Now he is under sponsorship of Kenya Kesho and The Madrinha Trust in the UK. Madrinha Trust has provided him with a mentor and learning resources. He is flourishing under his mentor, Roger, and is now a happy boy focusing in his studies.
